Bring your unsigned document and a valid, unexpired government photo ID such as a driver's license, state ID, passport, or military ID. Do not sign the document ahead of time - Maryland requires the signature to happen in front of the notary. If your document calls for witnesses, plan to bring them, and let us know in advance.
Maryland sets the maximum notary fee per notarial act. On top of that, mobile appointments include a separate travel fee based on distance and time of day, and that travel fee is quoted to you up front before we come out. There are never surprise charges. Ask when you book and we will give you the full price in writing.
Remote online notarization, or RON, lets you get a document notarized over a secure audio-video session instead of meeting in person. Maryland permits RON. You verify your identity electronically, sign digitally, and the session is recorded and stored as required by law. All you need is a computer or phone with a camera, a good internet connection, and your government photo ID.

In many cases, yes. Maryland notaries are authorized to certify that a copy is a true and complete copy of an original document you present to us. There are exceptions - we cannot certify copies of vital records such as birth, death, and marriage certificates, or of documents held by a public office. For those, you need to order a certified copy from the issuing agency.
